Patti Finton, LCSW-R, serves as the Director of Operations, bringing a wealth of experience and a commitment to meeting patients' diverse needs.

Patti's journey in the field of social work began in 2010 at Vera House, laying the foundation for a career marked by adaptability and continuous learning. Her professional path has led her through various settings, including a university counseling center at SUNY Cortland, an inpatient rehabilitation facility, a large county-based clinic, a Primary Care Center, and an outpatient behavioral health clinic. This diverse background has equipped Patti with a comprehensive understanding of mental health services across different contexts.

Specializing in working with children and adolescents, Patti has cultivated extensive experience collaborating with school systems and families. Her expertise, however, extends beyond youth services, as she also provides therapy to adults and couples, demonstrating her ability to connect with clients across all age groups. Patti's therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, being certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Prolonged Exposure therapy for trauma. Additionally, she is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment theories, and Family System Theory, offering a well-rounded toolkit to address a variety of mental health concerns.

Patti's commitment to professional growth is evident in her academic pursuits. A graduate of Syracuse University with a Master's in Social Work, she is currently expanding her skillset by working towards an MBA at SUNY Oswego. This blend of clinical expertise and business acumen positions Patti uniquely to lead and develop the practice, ensuring that Syracuse Family Counseling continues to evolve and meet the changing needs of its community.
