Wendy Holdsworth
LPCC • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
About
Creating an atmosphere of authenticity, humor, and compassion is at the core of Wendy Holdsworth's therapeutic approach. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Wendy has dedicated her career to helping clients embrace their true selves and let go of shame. Her practice is built on the belief that many of life's struggles stem from rejecting painful stories or disliked aspects of ourselves, often leading to unhealthy relationship cycles and mental health challenges.
Wendy's goal is to empower her clients by improving their trust in their own strengths and building resilience. She achieves this through developing tailored coping skills that enable individuals to take control of their quality of life. Her sessions are designed to be a safe space where clients can experience laughter, tears, curiosity, and profound healing.
With a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, Wendy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her full-time practice. She employs an eclectic mix of therapeutic modalities, adapting her approach to best suit each client's unique needs. Her toolkit includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to explore and challenge ongoing unhelpful beliefs and patterns, a psychodynamic approach to develop insights into the influence of past experiences on current behaviors, and mindfulness techniques to improve internal awareness and promote calm.
Wendy recognizes that starting therapy can seem daunting, but she emphasizes that it's a valuable investment in oneself. Whether clients come for a session or two to work through a specific issue or engage in deeper, long-term healing, Wendy provides a supportive environment for growth and self-discovery.
As part of the Collective Good Integrative Health community in Dayton, Ohio, Wendy contributes to a welcoming and diverse group of practitioners. Her practice aligns with the center's values of inclusion, compassion, and respect for both clients and fellow professionals. Wendy's commitment to ongoing learning and collaboration ensures that her clients receive the most current and effective care possible.
