Victor Blythe

With over 15 years of clinical and therapeutic experience, Victor Blythe, LICSW, LCSW-C, brings a unique understanding of the challenges faced by individuals growing up and living in the Washington, D.C. area. As a native Washingtonian educated through the Catholic school system in Maryland and the District, Victor's background provides him with invaluable insight into the local community's mental health needs.

Victor's educational journey began at The American University, where he earned his BA in Psychology. He then went on to obtain his Masters of Social Work from Howard University, further solidifying his commitment to serving his community. His extensive experience includes seven years in the Psychiatry Department at Children's National Medical Center, where he provided psychiatric assessments in the Emergency Room. This experience honed his ability to understand and address the mental health crises faced by young people.

While Victor specializes in working with children and adolescents, his expertise extends to adult clients as well, with over 12 years of experience in this area. He has successfully treated individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges, including mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, psychotic disorders on the schizophrenia spectrum, and individuals grappling with sexual orientation issues.

Victor's therapeutic approach primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), which he combines with Solution Focused Therapy and Client-Centered Therapeutic techniques. This integrative approach allows him to tailor his treatment to the specific needs of each individual client. Victor's greatest strength lies in his ability to work collaboratively with clients, guiding them as they discover solutions to their life challenges.

Throughout his career, Victor has prioritized building strong, trusting relationships with his clients.
