Vanessa Patino

With a passion for empowering individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Vanessa Patino, MA, BCBA, LBA, brings nearly a decade of specialized experience to her role as Clinical Director of ABA Services at Behavioral Intervention Psychological Services (BIPS). As both a Licensed Behavior Analyst in New York State and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, Vanessa's expertise lies in applying evidence-based practices to enhance the lives of those she serves.

Vanessa's journey in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) began in 2016 when she joined BIPS as a fellow. During this time, she completed her master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Queens College, City University of New York, laying a strong foundation for her future work. Her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth is evident in her pursuit of additional certifications, including becoming a PEERS Certified Provider.

Throughout her career, Vanessa has demonstrated versatility in working with a diverse age range, from young children as young as 3 to young adults up to 21 years old. This broad experience allows her to tailor interventions to meet the unique needs of individuals at various developmental stages. In her current role, she provides comprehensive case supervision to clients across different settings, ensuring that each individual receives personalized and effective behavioral support.

One of Vanessa's key strengths lies in her expertise in social skills training. She has developed a particular interest and proficiency in this area, offering social skills instruction in various formats, including one-on-one sessions, dyad arrangements, and group settings. Her certification in the PEERS model enables her to deliver state-of-the-art social skills programming for school-aged children, teenagers, and young adults, helping them navigate social interactions with greater confidence and success.

As a leader at BIPS, Vanessa not only focuses on client care but also contributes to the professional development of others in the field. She provides supervision to Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) trainees, helping to shape the next generation of ABA practitioners. Her approach combines rigorous scientific methodology with a compassionate understanding of each individual's unique challenges and potential.
