About

Transformational healing begins with a welcoming space where one feels understood and cared for. This philosophy is at the heart of Sarah Kaufman's therapeutic approach. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Eugene, Oregon, Sarah creates an environment where clients can be themselves, trusting that their needs will be given attention and care.

Sarah's practice integrates evidence-based approaches with the wisdom of somatic awareness, mind-body psychology, mindfulness practices, and expressive arts. This unique blend allows her to offer creative and life-affirming therapy, supporting clients in developing insight and healthy coping skills. She challenges clients in their journey towards a more congruent and meaningful existence, believing in the individual and collective capacity to heal and grow.

Specializing in trauma and PTSD, grief, anxiety, family of origin issues, spiritual and creative concerns, and relationship issues, Sarah's expertise spans a wide range of mental health challenges. She particularly enjoys working with creatives, eccentrics, and eclectics, welcoming diversity of all kinds to her therapy practice. Her approach recognizes that many of life's challenges are informed by relationships, and thus, healing and growth are also relationship-informed.

Sarah's therapeutic process is founded on the belief that change evolves from a therapeutic relationship built on mutual trust, respect, and compassion. She understands that chronic stress, unprocessed trauma, anxiety, and relationship issues can lead to habitual patterns that limit one's ability to respond effectively to the present moment. Through therapy, Sarah helps clients rebuild relationships—with themselves, others, and larger social systems—allowing them to find new clarity, trust, and resilience.

With her background in both Marriage and Family Therapy (MS) and Fine Arts (MFA), as well as her certification as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), Sarah brings a multifaceted approach to her practice. She offers a space where healing is not just about support or gaining insight, but an opportunity for deep and transformational change. Whether you're dealing with trauma, navigating grief, managing anxiety, or seeking to enhance your creativity and relationships, Sarah Kaufman provides a compassionate and skilled approach to guide you on your journey of growth and self-discovery.
