Riley Whiting, MA, MFT, understands this delicate balance and has dedicated his career to helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of human connection. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Ohio, Riley specializes in couple/relationship therapy, discernment counseling, and pre-marital therapy, offering a secure environment for clients to explore their personal and relational journeys.

Riley's approach is grounded in the belief that change is possible, no matter the challenges one faces. He draws inspiration from Terry Real's powerful quote about breaking generational patterns: "Family troubles roll from generation to generation like a fire in the woods… until one person, in one generation, has the courage to turn and face the flames." This philosophy underscores Riley's commitment to helping clients confront their difficulties with courage and compassion.

With a strong educational background, Riley obtained a Bachelor's degree in the Biological Foundations of Human Development and a Master's in Couple and Family Therapy. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy at Ohio State University, where he also serves as an instructor, teaching about families and relationships. This blend of academic knowledge and practical experience allows Riley to bring a well-rounded perspective to his therapeutic work.

In his practice, Riley utilizes a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Bowenian Family Systems and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help individuals and couples appreciate themselves and navigate different personal patterns. For couples specifically, he incorporates research-based strategies from the Gottman method and Emotion Focused Therapy. This integrative approach enables Riley to tailor his interventions to each client's unique needs and goals.

Riley is passionate about assisting clients in becoming the best versions of themselves, both individually and in their relationships. He offers a range of services including couple/relationship therapy, discernment counseling for those considering divorce, pre-marital therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy. Additionally, he has expertise in addressing life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief/loss.
