From Nicaragua to San Francisco, and from intern to Clinical Director, Rene DValery's journey in mental health is a testament to his dedication and expertise in supporting families through transitions. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Rene brings a wealth of experience to his role at Family Paths, an organization he has been part of since 2006.

Rene's career at Family Paths began fresh out of graduate school when he joined the Early Childhood Mental Health and Families in Transition branches. This early experience laid the foundation for his deep understanding of family dynamics and the challenges faced by families in transition. After completing his licensure, Rene expanded his professional horizons, working at Kaiser Permanente in the Early Start Program and establishing himself as a private practice clinician.

In 2013, Rene returned to Family Paths, taking on managerial roles that allowed him to make significant contributions to the organization. From 2018 to 2020, he managed Family Paths' Parenting Stress Helpline, demonstrating his commitment to providing crucial support to families under stress. Throughout his tenure, Rene has been a champion for cultural awareness, focusing much of his energy on expanding the awareness of Latino culture within the agency and growing the number of Spanish-speaking providers.

Now, as the Clinical Director at Family Paths, Rene DValery brings his extensive experience to bear on supporting the Families in Transition teams, Clinical Operations, and the Training Program. His vision for the role is clear and impactful: to foster an environment of support and mutuality while developing systems to streamline the organization's work. This dual focus on both the human and operational aspects of mental health services showcases Rene's holistic approach to leadership in the field.
