About

Feeling seen, heard, and accepted is at the core of Meredith Trank's therapeutic approach. As a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), Meredith creates a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their authentic selves and work towards healing, growth, and positive change.

Meredith's diverse expertise allows her to support individuals aged 14 and up through a wide range of challenges. Her areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, life transitions, religious and spiritual formation, career development, LGBTQ+ issues, grief and loss support, and burnout. She is particularly skilled in addressing religious trauma and spiritual deconstruction, helping clients navigate complex spiritual journeys with compassion and understanding.

With a unique educational background combining a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Divinity from Wake Forest University, Meredith brings a holistic perspective to her practice. This interdisciplinary approach allows her to address both psychological and spiritual aspects of her clients' lives, providing comprehensive support for those grappling with questions of faith, identity, and purpose.

Meredith employs a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment to each client's needs. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful technique for processing traumatic memories and reducing their emotional impact. For couples seeking to strengthen their relationships, Meredith is certified in Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy. She also incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, and strengths-based approaches to help clients develop resilience and achieve their goals.

Inspired by Viktor Frankl's philosophy that our power lies in choosing our response to life's challenges, Meredith empowers her clients to harness their inner strengths and make meaningful changes. Her style of counseling emphasizes the importance of connection – both between therapist and client, and within the client's own body and emotions. By creating a safe, empathetic environment, Meredith helps her clients explore their experiences, identities, and relationships, guiding them towards greater self-awareness and personal growth.

Whether you're struggling with trauma, anxiety, life transitions, or questions of faith and identity, Meredith Trank offers a compassionate, skilled presence to support you on your journey. Her commitment to providing a warm, accepting space combined with her diverse therapeutic toolkit makes her well-equipped to help clients navigate life's complexities and work towards a more fulfilling, authentic life.
