With a belief that each individual is the foremost expert on themselves, Matthew Lasley, LMFT, approaches therapy as a collaborative journey of self-discovery and growth. His unique perspective, honed through over a decade of working with youth in various capacities, forms the foundation of his therapeutic practice.
Matthew earned his Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Dominican University of California in 2016, followed by his Marriage and Family Therapist license in 2019. His diverse experience spans education, care, and mentoring, providing him with a rich understanding of the challenges and strengths inherent in personal development across different life stages.
As a therapist, Matthew seeks to build a therapeutic process that begins with each person's strengths, values, and motivations. He utilizes various approaches to create a unique plan for wellness specific to each individual. This tailored approach reflects his belief that everyone possesses the internal tools necessary to manifest change. Matthew's role is to help clients put these tools to use in building more flexible behaviors, more meaningful relationships, and greater resilience.
Matthew's professional journey includes valuable experiences as a therapist in training for both the Petaluma school district and Dominican University. These roles have further enriched his understanding of the diverse needs of individuals within educational settings and beyond.
