With a passion for holistic patient care and a commitment to ongoing education, Dr. Marren A. Onyalo stands at the forefront of mental health and family practice. As a double board-certified Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Onyalo brings a wealth of expertise to her role at Desert Sky Counseling Services in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Dr. Onyalo's journey in healthcare began with her Associates Nursing degree in 2009, followed by a Bachelor's in 2013. Her dedication to expanding her knowledge and skills led her to pursue a Masters in Nursing with a specialization in family practice, which she completed in 2015 at Tennessee State University. Not content to rest on her laurels, Dr. Onyalo further honed her expertise with a post-graduate certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from New Mexico State University in 2021. Most recently, she achieved the pinnacle of nursing education by earning her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2023, also from New Mexico State University.

This extensive educational background has equipped Dr. Onyalo with a unique blend of skills in both family practice and psychiatric mental health. Her dual certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) allows her to provide comprehensive care that addresses both the physical and mental health needs of her patients.
