With over two decades of dedicated service in the field of social work, Marilyn Morales brings a wealth of experience to her role as Vice President for Behavioral Health at Family Services. Specializing in HIV Services, Behavioral Health, and Substance Abuse, Marilyn has honed her expertise to address some of the most pressing challenges in mental health and addiction treatment.
Marilyn's journey in social work began with her Bachelor of Social Work from Herbert H. Lehman College in the Bronx, followed by a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University School of Social Work. This strong educational foundation laid the groundwork for a career marked by compassion, leadership, and a commitment to community well-being.
In 2000, Marilyn moved to the Hudson Valley, where she quickly became an integral part of the local behavioral health landscape. Her career trajectory showcases a progression from therapist to leadership roles, culminating in her current position overseeing Family Services' Behavioral Health Services. Prior to joining Family Services, Marilyn spent 15 years at a local Federally Qualified Health Center, where she led teams through successful AIDS Institute, OASAS, and Joint Commission Audits, while also expanding behavioral health services across several counties.
As Vice President for Behavioral Health, Marilyn is dedicated to the growth and quality enhancement of behavioral health services provided to the community. Her extensive background in HIV services, behavioral health, and substance abuse treatment informs her approach to developing comprehensive, integrated care models that address the diverse needs of clients.
Marilyn's leadership is characterized by a focus on continuous improvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a deep understanding of the social determinants that impact mental health and substance use disorders.
