Mai's diverse skill set includes training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and somatic psychotherapy, allowing her to offer a comprehensive toolkit for addressing a wide range of mental health concerns. Her experience spans working with both teens and adults, tackling issues such as addictions, depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and relationship concerns. Additionally, Mai has valuable experience within juvenile justice court systems, bringing a unique perspective to her practice.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Santa Barbara, Mai's educational background provides a solid foundation for her therapeutic work. She is particularly passionate about viewing therapy through a cultural lens, paying close attention to social justice issues and systemic factors that may impact an individual's sense of well-being.
Mai's inclusive approach extends to working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples, demonstrating her commitment to diversity and equality in mental health care. She is also BDSM and Kink allied, offering a judgment-free zone for clients to explore all aspects of their identities and relationships.
