About
Practicing nonjudgmental curiosity is at the heart of Lizzie Frost's therapeutic approach. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master's in Social Work, Lizzie creates a safe, welcoming space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without fear of judgment. This philosophy underpins her work with individuals and couples, fostering an environment of openness and growth.
Lizzie brings several years of experience to her practice, specializing in addressing a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship stress. Her approach is rooted in the belief that while she brings expertise from her training and clinical experience, the client is the true expert on their own life. This perspective shapes her therapeutic relationships into partnerships, collaboratively working towards the client's personal goals.
In her practice, Lizzie integrates multiple evidence-based modalities to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs. She is skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients identify and change negative thought patterns. Additionally, she employs Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), fostering psychological flexibility, and Cognitive Processing Therapy, particularly effective for addressing trauma. Lizzie values educating her clients about these therapeutic approaches, ensuring they understand the process and feel empowered in their healing journey.
Lizzie's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Indiana University Bloomington and a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. This solid academic foundation, combined with her clinical experience, enables her to provide comprehensive, informed care to her clients.
As an Indiana native who has also lived in St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri, Lizzie brings a diverse perspective to her work. Now settled back in her home state, she maintains a connection to her community, often enjoying walks around downtown Indianapolis with her husband. In her free time, Lizzie nurtures her creative side by playing piano and other instruments, experiments with new recipes, and stays grounded through her faith community. These personal pursuits contribute to her well-rounded approach to therapy, recognizing the importance of balance and personal fulfillment in mental health.
