Liz Golden
M.A. • Graduate Level Clinical Intern & Therapist
About
Bridging the gap between research and therapy, Liz Golden brings a unique perspective to her role as a Graduate Level Clinical Intern and Therapist. With over a decade of experience as a researcher studying human behavior, Liz has honed her skills in identifying key patterns, deepening insights, and synthesizing complex information. Now, as she pursues her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University, Liz is channeling her expertise into providing compassionate and effective therapy.
Liz's approach to therapy is rooted in her belief that our personalities and coping mechanisms are shaped by a combination of genetics, environment, and experiences. She strives to create a warm, comfortable, and judgment-free therapeutic environment that enables clients to connect with their most authentic selves. Her goal is to demystify the process of therapy, helping clients access the tools within themselves to make meaningful changes in their lives.
Specializing in trauma therapy, particularly for those who have experienced early childhood trauma, Liz offers comprehensive individual therapy for parents, young adults, and middle-aged adults. Her areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, attachment issues, relationship issues, infertility, and family dynamics. This wide range of specialties allows her to address the complex interplay of factors that often contribute to mental health challenges.
Liz's educational background is as diverse as her therapeutic approach. In addition to her current graduate studies in counseling, she holds a Master's Degree in Market Research with a Minor in Statistics, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Communication with a Minor in Business from Virginia Tech University. This multidisciplinary foundation enables her to approach therapy from various angles, combining analytical skills with deep empathy and understanding.
Outside of her professional life, Liz finds fulfillment in activities that promote balance and presence. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and snowboarding, as well as caring for plants and animals. Music plays a significant role in her life, both as a means of relaxation and as a practice in mindfulness – she plays both the piano and ukulele. These personal interests inform her holistic approach to therapy, recognizing the importance of diverse experiences in promoting mental well-being.
