Lauren Mishkin
LMHC • Licensed Mental Health Counselor
About
With a unique blend of traditional counseling theories and Eastern philosophies, Lauren Mishkin, LMHC, offers a holistic approach to healing that addresses the intricate connections between mind, body, and spirit. As a specialist in complex trauma and grief treatment, Lauren creates a safe space for clients to navigate life's most challenging transitions and experiences.
Lauren's therapeutic toolkit is as diverse as the clients she serves. She seamlessly integrates Complex Trauma treatment, Complex Grief Treatment, Motivational Interviewing, Existential, Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative, and Family Systems theories with yoga-informed, somatic, and mindfulness practices. This eclectic approach allows her to tailor treatment to each individual's unique needs, fostering a journey of self-discovery and healing.
With over five years of experience, Lauren has honed her expertise in treating a wide range of concerns, including substance use disorders, unresolved grief, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and various personality disorders. She places particular emphasis on self-regulation, codependency, boundary-setting, and family of origin work, empowering clients to break generational cycles of trauma and build healthier relationships.
Lauren's path to becoming a therapist is as inspiring as her practice. A Florida native who grew up in Pinellas County, she spent over 14 years in the hospitality industry before pursuing her education. Starting at Saint Petersburg College and earning her GED, Lauren went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Human Services with honors and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College of Tampa Bay.
In her practice, Lauren believes that good therapy lies at the intersection of science and art. She combines evidence-based approaches with creative, out-of-the-box thinking, offering clients the best of both worlds. Whether working with individuals struggling with complex grief, those seeking recovery support, or adults navigating ADHD, Lauren's compassionate and integrative approach helps clients reclaim their authentic inner light and step into their personal power.
