L. Donald Hartwell

Drawing from a rich background in theology and clinical pastoral counseling, L. Donald Hartwell, MA, LPCC, brings a unique blend of spiritual insight and psychological expertise to his practice as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. With a specialization in trauma and a heart for serving pastors and missionaries, Hartwell offers a compassionate approach to healing that addresses both the mind and spirit.

At the core of Hartwell's practice is a commitment to enriching communication, intimacy, and fulfillment in couples therapy. His individual counseling services cover a wide range of issues, including sexual addiction, abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, stress management, establishing healthy boundaries, anger management, and parenting. Hartwell employs a diverse set of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and psychodynamic and systemic approaches, tailoring his methods to meet each client's unique needs.

Hartwell's educational background includes a BA in Theology from Oral Roberts University and an MA in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Ashland University & Theological Seminary. This foundation, combined with his ordination as a minister and role as an adjunct professor at Indiana Wesleyan University, allows him to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to his counseling practice. His clinical training includes EMDR Level 1 and 2 and Memory Reconsolidation, equipping him with advanced tools to address trauma and complex psychological issues.

Beyond his clinical work, Hartwell is actively involved in community outreach and education. He serves as a speaker for Healthy Pastors Seminars and Church Marriage Conferences, providing valuable insights and support to religious leaders and congregations.
