About
With over two decades of experience as a therapist and counselor, Dr. Kim E. Costello has dedicated her career to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate major life changes with compassion and expertise. As the co-founder and co-owner of The Costello Center, Dr. Costello has cultivated a holistic approach to counseling that addresses the mind, body, and spirit.
Dr. Costello's innovative method for collaborative divorce, developed through her extensive expertise in conflict resolution therapy, has gained recognition as families discover the possibility of divorce without despair. Her specialized training in family mediation and collaborative law enables her to serve in multiple crucial roles, including neutral mental health facilitator, parenting coordinator, child specialist, and mediator. Dr. Costello tailors her services to each family's unique needs, recognizing that while no two divorces are identical, the goal of easing transitions through improved communication and cooperation remains constant.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Costello has authored several books that promote family communication, self-awareness, and overall well-being. Her publications include "Great Monkeys All Are We," a children's book co-written with her daughter to increase children's self-awareness, and "Heartstrings: The Parent-Child Connection," a parenting handbook that guides parents in understanding their role in their children's lives. Her most recent work, "Dash the Sea Turtle," co-authored with her husband, encourages self-acceptance in children.
Dr. Costello's extensive qualifications include being a psychotherapist, Board Certified Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Florida Supreme Court Mediator, Certified Christian Marriage and Family Therapist, Parenting Coordinator, and Neutral Mental Health Facilitator. She holds a master's degree from Norwich University and a Doctorate in Christian Counseling Psychology (DCCPsy.) from Carolina University of Theology.
At The Costello Center, founded in 2006 with her husband Frank Costello, Dr. Costello leads a team of independent contractors in providing a comprehensive range of counseling and academic support services. Her approach is rooted in the belief that the fundamental human needs are to be loved and to belong, from which all other needs can be satisfied. Dr. Costello is committed to creating a safe, caring environment where clients can work towards happiness, success, and reaching their full potential.
