Kayla's approach is rooted in her understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, stress management, and identity struggles. She believes in walking beside her clients on their journey, offering guidance and support as they navigate life's complexities. A Memphis native, Kayla's educational background reflects her commitment to helping others. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Health Management from Union University. Currently, she is pursuing her Master of Science in Social Work from Louisiana State University, with an anticipated graduation in 2024. This blend of organizational leadership and social work education equips Kayla with a unique perspective on addressing mental health challenges within broader social contexts.
As a Master's Level Clinical Intern, Kayla works under the clinical supervision of R. Allie Coughlin, LPC-MHSP, ensuring that her clients receive care that adheres to the highest professional standards. She offers both in-person and virtual sessions, providing flexibility to meet her clients' needs.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Kayla's personal interests contribute to her well-rounded approach to therapy. She enjoys reading, which keeps her informed and empathetic, and finds joy in attending anime conventions, showcasing her appreciation for diverse forms of expression and creativity. Her love for her Labrador-Pitt mix, Stella, and the time she spends with her partner and step-children highlight her understanding of the importance of connection and family dynamics.
