As a graduate intern, Kathy worked with female felony parolees transitioning from prison to residential treatment facilities. She also volunteered at Tulare County's Juvenile Justice Detention Facility, experiences that ignited her passion for working with offender-based populations. Recognizing the needs of at-risk youth, Kathy went on to found Tulare County's first Licensed Runaway & Homeless Youth Shelter, Genesis House, demonstrating her commitment to community service and social change.
