About

At the intersection of mental health therapy and yoga practice stands Katherine Hyatt, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) who embodies a holistic approach to wellness. As the Clinical Director and founder of Branches of Growth in North Syracuse, Katherine has cultivated a unique therapeutic environment that fosters individual growth through the integration of traditional counseling and mindful movement.

Katherine's journey into the healing arts began with a profound desire to connect with people, hear their stories, and offer support. This innate calling led her to pursue a career in therapy, which she describes as not just a profession, but a personal "journey, process, and savior." Her philosophy as a clinician is rooted in creating a safe, non-judgmental, and caring space where clients can navigate life's complex twists and turns with encouragement and motivation.

In 2012, Katherine's own path took an unexpected turn when she discovered yoga. What started as a means to build strength and stability for running quickly evolved into a transformative practice, especially in the wake of personal losses. Recognizing the profound impact of yoga on mental well-being, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2016, laying the foundation for what would become Branches of Growth Mental Health Counseling and Yoga Studio.

Katherine's expertise spans a wide range of therapeutic modalities and yoga practices. She is trained in Children's Yoga, Trauma-Conscious Yoga Practices, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, EMDR, CBT, and DBT. Her yoga classes are tailored to support mental health, with specializations in yoga for mental wellness, anxiety, and depression. She has also worked with diverse populations, including teaching chair yoga and working in inpatient psychiatric units at the VA.

As an author, Katherine has published "Mindful Maddie," a children's book that introduces young readers to the concepts of mindfulness and yoga. This creative endeavor showcases her commitment to making mental wellness accessible to all ages and demonstrates her belief in the power of early intervention and education in promoting lifelong well-being.

At Branches of Growth, Katherine has created a holistic haven where clients can explore the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Her integrative approach combines evidence-based therapeutic techniques with the grounding practices of yoga and mindfulness. Whether in individual therapy sessions or group yoga classes, Katherine guides her clients towards self-discovery, emotional regulation, and inner peace, emphasizing that true wellness emerges from nurturing all aspects of one's being.
