From first responder to psychiatric mental health specialist, Jose Fregoso, MSN, PMHNP, brings a unique blend of crisis care experience and psychiatric expertise to his role at the California Center for Psychedelic Therapy. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Jose is dedicated to supporting mental, physical, and spiritual health through innovative approaches, including psychedelic-assisted therapy.

Jose's journey in healthcare began as a first responder serving Los Angeles County for over five years. This foundational experience in crisis management laid the groundwork for his future in mental health care. After graduating from West Coast University, Jose expanded his skillset working as a Registered Nurse in intensive care, emergency, and behavioral health units. These diverse experiences in high-stakes medical environments honed his ability to provide compassionate care in challenging situations.

It was through his work in crisis care that Jose discovered his passion for psychiatric health and the potential of psychedelic medicine as a modality to support mental well-being. This revelation led him to pursue and obtain his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification, enabling him to offer specialized care in the growing field of psychiatric applications of psychedelics.

At the California Center for Psychedelic Therapy, Jose focuses on utilizing psychedelic-assisted therapies to address a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other conditions.
