Jamie Lange
PMHNP • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
About
With a compassionate, empathic, and holistic approach to mental health treatment, Jamie Lange brings a wealth of experience to her role as a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her journey in the field of mental health is as diverse as it is inspiring, shaped by a unique blend of academic pursuits and hands-on experience in various healthcare settings.
Jamie's path to becoming a mental health professional began in Indiana, where she was born and raised. Her initial academic pursuit led her to complete a degree in biology, laying a strong foundation in the sciences. However, it was her love for the mountains that drew her westward, where she embarked on a second degree in nursing, combining her passion for healthcare with her adventurous spirit.
In 2012, Jamie launched her nursing career at the state psychiatric hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. This experience marked the beginning of a varied and rich professional journey. Over the years, she expanded her expertise across multiple nursing domains, including medical-surgical, acute rehabilitation, fertility, hospice, and geriatric psychiatry. This diverse background has given her a comprehensive understanding of the interconnectedness of physical and mental health.
A defining moment in Jamie's career came during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when she served as a crisis nurse in multiple cities. This challenging experience allowed her to witness firsthand the profound effects of trauma and burnout, further fueling her passion for mental health care. Driven by a desire to make an even greater impact in the field, Jamie pursued and obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado in 2022.
Jamie's approach to mental health treatment is rooted in the belief that an individual's mental well-being is shaped by their unique life experiences. She considers various factors such as childhood experiences, trauma, relationships, lifestyle, health, and environment when developing treatment plans. This holistic perspective allows her to address the multifaceted nature of mental health comprehensively.
At the core of Jamie's practice is her commitment to forming trusting relationships with clients. She emphasizes collaboration, working closely with individuals to create personalized treatment plans that are tailored to their specific needs and grounded in evidence-based practices. Her ultimate goal is twofold: to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and to help those affected rediscover their passions and enhance their overall quality of life.
Now based in Utah, where she has created a home with her husband (who works full-time with the Utah Army National Guard), Jamie continues to bring her expertise and compassionate care to the local community. Her dedication to mental health extends beyond her professional life, as evidenced by her love for outdoor adventures. Whether rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, canyoneering, or backpacking, Jamie's personal pursuits reflect her belief in the importance of maintaining a balanced, active lifestyle for overall well-being.
At Ampelis Health, Jamie Lange stands ready to support individuals on their journey to improved mental health, offering a unique blend of professional expertise, diverse experience, and a deeply empathetic approach to care.
