About

With a compassionate approach rooted in the belief of innate human strength and wellness, Heather Hemphill, LPC, LLMFT, CAADC, offers a unique therapeutic experience that empowers clients to navigate life's challenges and achieve personal growth. As a seasoned therapist with a diverse background in substance abuse treatment and mental health care, Heather brings a wealth of experience to her practice at Evolve Therapy Group.

Heather's journey in mental health began with five years of invaluable experience in a sub-acute detox and residential facility, where she honed her skills in addressing the complex needs of adults struggling with substance use disorders. This foundation, coupled with her work in an outpatient clinic specializing in substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of addiction and its impact on individuals and families.

At the heart of Heather's practice is a client-centered approach that recognizes the unique experiences and strengths of each individual. She skillfully works with clients facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, marital issues, relationship concerns, substance abuse, and traumatic experiences. Her expertise extends to providing individual, group, couple, and family therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings, allowing her to tailor her approach to each client's specific needs and circumstances.

Heather's therapeutic philosophy is grounded in the belief that the counseling relationship provides the foundation for meaningful change. She views her role as a supportive guide, walking beside clients as they explore their experiences, validate their feelings, and work towards positive changes aligned with their personal values and goals. This collaborative approach fosters a safe and nurturing environment where clients can discover their inner strengths and develop the tools necessary for sustainable growth and healing.

As a therapist committed to inclusivity and cultural competence, Heather welcomes clients from all backgrounds, including diverse races, religions, abilities, gender identities, and sexual orientations. She understands the critical importance of respecting each client's worldview when selecting therapeutic interventions, ensuring that the healing process is both relevant and effective for every individual she serves.

In her personal life, Heather finds joy in spending time with family and friends, caring for her two rescued retired racing greyhounds, Pippa and Grinch, and indulging her passion for medieval history through study and reenactment. These personal interests not only contribute to her well-rounded perspective but also reflect her appreciation for the richness of human experience and history.

Clients who choose to work with Heather can expect a therapeutic journey marked by trust, respect, and authenticity. Her approach is designed to help individuals, couples, and families find realistic solutions to their challenges, leveraging their existing strengths while developing new skills and insights.
