About

With a multicultural background spanning France, Tokyo, Barcelona, and San Francisco, Dr. Éva Nicolas brings a unique global perspective to her work as a licensed clinical psychologist at Willow Anxiety & OCD. Specializing in the treatment of OCD and anxiety-related disorders, Dr. Nicolas combines cognitive-behavioral therapy with a client-centered approach to create a compassionate, non-judgmental therapeutic environment.

Dr. Nicolas recognizes the immense courage required to seek mental health support and views therapy as a collaborative process. She begins by building rapport with her clients, guiding them as they set personalized goals and work towards measurable change. Her approach highlights evidence-based interventions while emphasizing compassion and encouragement, particularly when working with adults, adolescents, and their families navigating significant life events and milestones.

Éva's diverse cultural experiences have fueled her passion for addressing the intersection of culture and social diversity in her clinical work. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at Alliant International University in San Francisco and further challenged herself by relocating to Arizona for her predoctoral internship and fellowship. This move allowed her to gain experience with demographically, culturally, and diagnostically diverse populations in various settings, including an inpatient crisis recovery unit and a community behavioral health outpatient clinic.

Dr. Nicolas is committed to providing empirically-supported treatment methods and has extensive training in evidence-based practices. Her toolkit includes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and structural family therapy. At Willow Anxiety & OCD, she is focusing on deepening her expertise in CBT and exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OC spectrum and anxiety disorders.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Éva embraces life's adventures through traveling, sailing, attending music festivals, and exploring quirky local events. This zest for life and new experiences enriches her ability to connect with clients and understand their unique perspectives, making her an empathetic and effective guide on their journey towards mental well-being.
