Dana Lipsky

With a passion for empowering fellow mental health professionals, Dr. Dana Lipsky has established herself as a sought-after consultant in the field of psychology. Her unique approach to consultation services offers a preventative, proactive, and enriching way for clinicians to gain guidance, support, and perspective on their most challenging cases.

Dr. Lipsky's expertise spans a wide range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Strengths-Based, Solution-Focused, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness therapy. In couples therapy, she skillfully utilizes the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy, having completed advanced training in both approaches.

As the Owner and Clinical Director of Metropolitan Psychological Services, Dr. Lipsky brings 15 years of diverse clinical experience to her practice. Her background includes work in community mental health centers, private practices, psychiatric hospitals, schools, university counseling centers, and military care facilities. This breadth of experience allows her to offer invaluable insights to professionals across various settings and specialties.

Dr. Lipsky earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the APA-accredited program at the American School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. She also holds Master's degrees in both Clinical Psychology and Counseling Psychology. Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in Virginia and Washington, D.C., Dr. Lipsky is also a member of Psypact, expanding her ability to serve clients across state lines.
