With a passion for healing that began as a volunteer at a local children's shelter in Tucson, Celina Peña, LAC, NCC, has dedicated her career to supporting children and families through life's challenges. As a licensed associate counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist for Families, Celina brings a decade of experience working with children in therapeutic settings to her practice at Resilience Therapy.
Celina's expertise shines in her work with children of all ages and young adults (ages 5-24), with a special affinity for engaging young children through play and creative activities. Her collaborative approach honors the unique needs of each child and family, providing tailored therapeutic services that address a wide range of mental health challenges including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational and behavioral issues.
With specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Celina employs evidence-based techniques to support healing and growth. Her background working with children with Autism and in various Children's Advocacy Centers has further honed her skills in providing compassionate, effective care.
As a proud Tucson native and Mexican American woman, Celina is committed to serving the diverse needs of her community. She offers therapy services in both English and Spanish, ensuring that language is never a barrier to receiving quality mental health care. Her fluency extends beyond spoken language to a deep understanding of cultural nuances, allowing her to provide culturally competent care to families from various backgrounds.
