Bradley Blackburn
LCMHCA • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate
About
In the heart of downtown Concord, NC, a compassionate voice echoes the words of psychologist Steven Hayes: "A human life is not a problem to be solved but something to be experienced and lived." This philosophy forms the cornerstone of Bradley Blackburn's therapeutic approach at Concord Counseling Services. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA), Bradley offers a safe haven for adults and older adolescents navigating the complex terrain of human emotions.
Bradley's practice is built on the foundation of client-centered therapy, where non-judgmental support and positive regard for each individual's unique personhood and abilities take center stage. He specializes in guiding clients through a spectrum of challenges, including depression, anxiety, lost sense of self, personality disorders, substance use issues, family systems problems, and communication needs. By utilizing principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Bradley helps his clients develop workable strategies to achieve their personal goals.
With an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University, Bradley has been working as a professional counselor since October 2021. His experience includes a year as an intern and counselor with Crossroads Counseling in Hickory, North Carolina, and 1.5 years as a career counseling assistant at Lenoir-Rhyne University. This diverse background allows him to bring a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to his current role.
Bradley's approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that self-compassion is the starting point for meaningful change. He works collaboratively with clients to identify their goals, examining the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through this process, Bradley aims to help clients align these elements with healthy functioning, developing crucial skills such as coping mechanisms, present-based thinking, and other behavioral strategies for long-lasting progress.
At Concord Counseling Services, clients can expect a therapeutic journey that honors their lived experiences while providing practical tools for growth. Bradley offers both in-person sessions at his downtown Concord office and teletherapy options for North Carolina residents, ensuring accessibility and flexibility in mental health care. Whether you're grappling with overwhelming emotions or seeking to enhance your communication skills, Bradley Blackburn stands ready to guide you towards a life that truly matters to you.
