Beth's journey in mental health began with her graduation from Mount Union College in 2002, followed by her advanced degree from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2013. Since becoming a practicing clinician in 2011, she has dedicated herself to serving in various settings, including community mental health, hospice care, and private practice. This diverse background has equipped her with a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the multifaceted nature of mental health challenges.
At the core of Beth's practice is her commitment to trauma treatment and crisis intervention. She has pursued extensive training in these areas, including participation in New Frontiers in Trauma Treatment with renowned expert Bessel van der Kolk, MD. Beth is also Level 1 and 2 Trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) through The Institute for Creative Mindfulness, a powerful technique for addressing trauma and PTSD.
Beth's expertise extends beyond trauma to encompass a wide range of mental health concerns. She works skillfully with adults, children, and groups, offering support for those grappling with depression, grief, anxiety disorders, and life adjustments. Her practice is further enhanced by her training in various therapeutic modalities, including DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Expressive Arts, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and Sand Tray therapy.
