About

Alexandra Kropf brings a unique blend of trauma-informed care, social justice awareness, and holistic healing to her practice as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. With a passionate commitment to challenging oppressive systems, Alex creates a safe and affirming space for clients to explore their whole selves.

Alex's therapeutic approach is grounded in a multi-theoretical framework that incorporates feminist, humanistic, existential, somatic, and internal family systems perspectives. She skillfully weaves in mindfulness, gestalt, psychodynamic, and attachment-based approaches to provide comprehensive care. Her spiritual and depth background allows her to integrate art, somatic experiencing, dreamwork, ancestral re-connection, and archetypal exploration into therapy sessions, offering clients a rich tapestry of healing modalities.

Specializing in complex trauma, Alex is adept at working with adults, children/adolescents, and couples on a wide range of issues. Her areas of expertise include relationships, depression, anxiety, exploration of sex and sexuality, gender identity, chronic pain, consensual non-monogamy, grief, end-of-life transitions, prenatal and postpartum care, and intergenerational trauma. As a co-author of a chapter in "The Handbook of Consensual Non-Monogamy Affirming Mental Health Practice," Alex brings valuable insights to her work with CNM-identified clients.

Alex's academic background includes a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, with a specialization in Spiritual and Depth Psychology. Her undergraduate degree in Women and Gender Studies from Loyola Marymount University, coupled with her experience as a medical assistant at a sexual health center and as a birth and postpartum doula, informs her feminist and sex-positive approach to therapy.

Deeply committed to climate justice, Alex incorporates eco-therapy into her work, recognizing the vital connection between mental health and our relationship with the earth. Her goal is to guide and support clients through the alchemical processes of healing and transformation, offering compassion, connection, curiosity, and a good sense of humor along the way. Whether you're seeking self-exploration, healing from trauma, or navigating life transitions, Alex is dedicated to helping you live your freest and most authentic life.
