Dr. Allan Schwartz, LCSW, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of private practice experience. He is licensed in Colorado (#127) and New York (#R039535). He earned his MSW from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work in 1988 and his Ph.D. from the Ferkauf Graduate School in 1976, both at Yeshiva University in New York City. In 1992, he became a Certified Psychoanalyst after completing training at the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP).

Before transitioning to full-time private practice, he gained extensive clinical experience at Bronx Lebanon Hospital’s Outpatient Psychiatry Department, F.E.G.S., the Continuing Day Treatment Program for Chronically Mentally Ill Patients, and the Geriatric Center’s Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Department at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. Now based in Boulder, Colorado, and Southwest Florida, Dr. Schwartz writes about psychotherapy.
